The close placement of these colors results in optical blending, in which the colors visually mix to create the look of a fourth oyster gray color. The glass is fired in a kiln to 1400 degrees, which is hot enough to melt the pieces together while retaining the texture of the individual elements. Each piece is made to order, and the exact
