“Dom Augustin Guillerand: Prayer”  –  Dom Augustin Guillerand, a Carthusian monk, 1877-1945, said that prayer is about being united with, and transformed into, God.  Sin prefers itself rather than union with God.  Sin is self-centeredness.  Prayer is to help us deal with this focus on the “self” which is attracted to transient pleasures of the senses.  What would give us the energy to focus on such prayer?  The fact that life is short and transient can give us this prayer energy.  Humility comes when we see the small space we fill, the mere moment that we have to live.  It can help cure us of the indifference we might have toward the God of Love.  All prayer is a movement toward God.   There will be coffee, tea, homemade treats and fruit.  The presentation is free but donations are welcome.  There will be a 20 minute meditation time as part of the morning.  For more information contact 303-442-6158.
