Reconciliation

Reconciliation is held at Sacred Heart of Jesus during the following days and times.
Monday 11:30 a.m. – noon
Tuesday 11:30 a.m. – noon
Thursday 11:30 a.m. – noon
Friday 11:30 a.m. – noon and 5 – 7 p.m. in English and Spanish
Saturday 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in English and Spanish
Sunday Noon – 1 p.m. in Spanish
Confession may also be made by private appointment with one of the parish priests. Please contact the parish center for an appointment or email our priests directly.
FIRST RECONCILIATION
Children participating in the Sacred Heart of Jesus religious education/faith formation program prepare to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation in second grade. Students do this as part of the curriculum at Sacred Heart of Jesus School or through the parish religious education program.

As a result of Original Sin, human nature is weakened. Baptism, by imparting the life of Christ’s grace, takes away Original Sin and turns us back toward God. The consequences of this weakness and the inclination to evil persist, and we often commit personal or actual sin.
The sacrament of Reconciliation is one of the most unique and beautiful aspects of Catholicism. Jesus Christ, in His abundant love and mercy, established the sacrament of Confession so that we as sinners can obtain forgiveness for our sins and reconcile with God and the Church. The sacrament “washes us clean” and renews us in Christ.
