“By the sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.” – Catechism of the Catholic Church, para. 1285

The Restored Order of the Sacraments of Initiation
Sacred Heart of Jesus Church follows the Archdiocese of Denver restored order of the sacraments. During this two-year program, children prepare for First Reconciliation in second grade and for Confirmation and First Holy Communion in third grade.
The Sacraments of Initiation are originally intended to be received in this order: Baptism, Confirmation and then Holy Eucharist. The sacrament that fully initiates a person into the Catholic Church is Holy Eucharist (First Communion).
